DAN EDUCATIONAL FIRST AID COURSES
Provider and instructor DAN courses
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
A DAN Basic Life Support (BLS) course not only trains how to resuscitate a victim in circulatory arrest, but can also prevent the onset of such a condition. External haemorrhage and shock, for example, can lead to serious circulatory and respiratory problems. The DAN BLS course will prepare you to react correctly in the event of an accident.
FIRST AID
This course aims to educate CPR/BLS certified individuals to provide first aid to adult victims of injuries that are not directly life-threatening. In the face of a serious accident, first aid skills are the next step to effective BLS.
NEUROLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
This course, On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers, is an advanced programme to provide additional training for those who have successfully completed the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries course within the last two years.
HAZARDOUS MARINE LIFE INJURIES
The DAN First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries course is designed to provide divers (and interested non divers) with the tools to identify hazardous marine life, to avoid possible injuries caused by them and to be prepared to provide the necessary first aid.
DIVE MEDICINE FOR DIVERS
The Dive Medicine for Divers course is aimed at anyone interested in a better understanding of diving physiology and dive safety. It includes topics not usually covered in diver training, such as physical fitness for diving, safety planning, allergic reactions and the obligations and consequences for first aid providers.
EQUALEASY
is the new training course focused on conscious compensation (Equalisation Awareness) designed by Andrea Zuccari for DAN Europe. Equalisation Awareness concerns not only divers and freedivers, but also adults and children facing a flight for the first time, and even hyperbaric operators who face such issues on a daily basis.
OXYGEN FIRST AID COURSES
Oxygen administration courses for diving accident
OXYGEN FIRST AID
The ‘DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries’, is an Oxygen First Aid course designed to teach divers and interested non-divers (e.g. the captain of the diving vessel accompanying them) to recognise diving-related injuries and to correctly administer oxygen during first aid in diving emergencies.
ADV OXYGEN FIRST AID
An additional training module for those who have successfully completed the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries course. It is designed to train DAN Oxygen Providers to use a positive pressure regulator (such as the MTV100) and/or an Ambu bag (BVM - Bag Valve Mask) according to local laws and regulations.
MEDICAL OXYGEN REBREATHER
An additional training module for those who have already successfully completed the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries course within the last 12 months. It teaches DAN Oxygen Providers how to recognise diving injuries for which the MO2R system is an effective method of providing emergency oxygen, how to assemble the MO2R unit and how to use it to provide oxygen.
