Divemaster
The start of your career as a professional diver!
Divemaster - an enviable profession. Enviable because it's rewarding, responsible and diverse.
As a Divemaster you learn to supervise diving activities and assist the instructor while working with his student divers. Dive, travel, meet other people and offer them something exciting.
You can start training to become a Divemaster after successfully completing the Rescue Diver course; dive centres around the world are looking for Divemasters to help them train divers, organise dive trips and lead dives.
- Prerequisites:medically fit for diving and rescue diver certification
- Total time commitment: 10 days
- Minimum age: 18 years or older
Assistant Instructor
As an Assistant Instructor, you not only gain further experience as a PADI Dive Professional, but you also begin to learn the Dive Training System. You can also act as a teaching assistant and take on some teaching responsibilities. It's an excellent way to gain experience to become a Dive Instructor!
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first part of the Instructor Development Course (IDC) and, when followed by the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI) and successful completion of the Instructor Examination (IE), leads to Open Water Scuba Instructor certification.

- Total time commitment: 4 days
- Minimum age: 18 years or older
